Summertime greetings!
I recently spent a couple weeks in Iowa visiting my mom. I was reading the Fort Dodge Today publication, and when I saw your note that says you’d like to hear from people - I told mom, “Maybe I’ll write them when I get home”...
I was born in Fort Dodge, and grew up on an acreage on the Badger Blacktop. Then studied to be a teacher at UNI before moving to Northern Minnesota. I’ve been living north of Seattle for the past 6.5 years–but often reflect on Iowa. I am so proud to be an Iowa girl–that will never leave me. I have written several essays about Iowa and I am enclosing one of them.
Your section entitled the Good Life seems to include good ideas for people. I’m also enclosing a Moving Guide that I have written. I work with seniors in an assisted living. Their families have found that my guide is helpful during the transitions of moving. If you can use any of it, you are welcome to.
Thank you for sharing Fort Dodge and Iowa thru’ your publication every month.
